Joyce,

I'm afraid your husband is right and that's going to be a sad day when it happens. We're almost there already, though.

Patti

Liz,

Definitely on the author overload. There are so many screaming "look at me, look at me" that we all get lost in that sea.

Patti

Rob,

I don't mind ads for other books at the end either, it's kind of like coming attractions at the movies, but I don't want ads for makeup or pizza rolls in my books. :-)

Patti

Yes it is definitely getting overwhelming. My dh says soon they will have - Jo Blo is blowing his nose with such & such product. In books it would be terrible.

If there isn't a show I really want to watch I often just sit with the TV off. The commercials every 6 minutes gets annoying.

Oh, how awful that would be. In books?? No safe havens left? If that ever starts I'll be first in line to start a giant revolution!

And, as much as we were talking about writers marketing their "wares" yesterday--this definitely gives one pause. The overload happens in our world too. Take all the bookmarks etc. at conferences. Who pays attention to any single one unless it really stands out?

Great post Patti--lots of food for thought.

Hi Patti :)
YES! I totally agree.
I don't mind the ads for other books in the back of books (prevalent in the 70s & 80s) though. As long as it is IN THE BACK/END of the book.
:)
Thank you for sharing,
All the best,
Rob
