Hi Joanne,

I'm glad you liked my draft scene enough to pick up the Jarved Nine books. :-) I'd love to do Cam's story some day since I know who his heroine is and everything, but I have so many other ideas backed up. I hope you like Eternal Nights!

Apparently I am doing this series backwards...started with Cam excerpts, found Eternal Nights in a remainder bin yesterday, and now have to go find copy of Ravyn's Flight (harder than it sounds since Chapters doesn't tend to carry your books in-store. sigh).

I hear you! If I have one more SEO follow me on Twitter.... Sigh. There are too many of those guys if they're trolling people like this. Hiding lists might make them more workable for me. I'll have to check it out a little more after I finish this proposal.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I do know you can hide your lists (though I don't know if that also hides the fact that you've listed someone from that person). I hide my marketing and celebrity lists because I found when they were public I got a rash of spammers. "Marketing" is one of those words you never, ever want to tweet (LOL).

Thanks, Keri! I have Tweetdeck, too, but I haven't made any lists because they're public and I don't want anyone to be upset about what list I'd put them on. Of course, Tweetdeck does let you create your own columns and that might be the better way to go than with Twitter's lists.

Oooh, yes! I hate the bribing people to retweet for more followers. I think that makes the person offering the prize for more followers look sad and pathetic. You get more followers by having conversations and providing tweets people are interested in reading. Want to bet those who've been bribed either leave quickly or relegate the author in question to a Tweetdeck column that they don't read?

I guess I'm just going to keep on doing what works for me at least for right now.

Patti,
I don't autofollow either, but I do follow a lot of people. I use tweetdeck, which makes it much easier to categorize/list and follow many more people. I don't ever expect to know everything the folks I follow are tweeting about, but I get a big picture quickly that way. I can jump over to the agents column and see them listing their series of pubtips. I can slide back to editors and publishers and get some feel for how the industry is reacting to the latest iPad/Amazon/DRM crisis. That tool really helps.

I also like seeing both sides of a conversation (I'm inherently nosy), which is easier to do if you are following all parties.

I come to twitter to learn, and I don't understand why people are so insistent upon getting followers--especially when you have nothing yet to give/share/sell to them.

My bottom line? If I follow someone, it's because I want to--not because that person said I should.

Bess,

Usually, my first call is to my dad. And thank you for being impressed. The guys at work were giving me a hard time about it, asking if I tested it to make sure the wiper didn't come off again.

I'm impressed. My usual way of fixing stuff like that is to tuck parts here and there so nobody gets hurt by sharp edges. Then I think of who to call.
